A severe respiratory illness caused by a coronavirus. The virus is transmitted by contact with infectious material, air transmission, contact with an object that has the virus on it. COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China. The virus is also named SARS-COV-2, from the Sars virus which was also a family of the Coronavirus. The CO in Coronavirus stands for "Corona", the VI stands for "Virus", the D stands for "Disease", The -19 is the year when the first case came out, recovery for mild cases is approximately 2 weeks. Recovery time for severe cases of the virus will take up to 3-6 weeks to recover. On March 11th, 2020 the COVID-19 outbreak was declared as a global pandemic by the W.H.O (World Health Organization). There is currently no vaccine for the virus. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20-30 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Wear a fase mask. Practice social distancing. Maintain a 6-foot distance from other people. Avoid crowds. Stay home!. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Standard household cleansers and wipes are effective in cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces. It’s currently flu and respiratory disease season and CDC recommends getting vaccinated, taking everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs, and taking flu antivirals if prescribed.
