the most dangerous bear of all. (can also be applied to people who are ticking time bombs) known to the natives of northern alaska, these bears are likely too old, weak or hungry to hibernate. in the winter, bears are generally thought to be scarce, nestled away in their dens, sleeping until spring. encountering a bear in the winter can be quite shocking, often catching people off guard. this, coupled with the fact that the bear is likely more agitated and desperate than usual, makes the winter bear a very dangerous and feared creature.
