If you listen closely you will hear all around you the peaceful sounds of lives being taken away. Mothers, fathers, children. Wives, brothers, friends. If you listen closely you will be reminded of your own life and how it is naturally unpredictable. short. an empty space to be filled by none other than you. a celebration if you let it. a tragedy if you allow it. reminded of its passing magic. and of all its banality. of our limited powers to leave something of value and to maintain contact to other humans in our vicinity. lasting or fleeting. loving maybe, carelessly cold, or fearful.
