A Marvel Comics character who first appeared in "The New Mutants" #98 1991, originally meant as a parody to the DC character Deathstroke. He often wields two swords and/or firearms and has an advanced healing factor, similar to the character Wolverine. Hard-core fans insist that the humor of Deadpool is edgy and witty and that the readers/viewers who disagree just don't "get it", however many of the jokes are based on lazy meta-humor or breaking the fourth wall for the sake of doing so. Deadpool has a wide fan-base from 12-year-old boys to adult comic book fans with the sense of humor of 12-year-old boys.
