Yaboku, better known as Yato, is a character in the anime, "Noragami". Although Yato's real name is Yaboku, he is first introduced as Yato and is called Yato by everyone in the story, excluding his father. It is suggested that Yato's former shinki (regalia) Sakura gave Yato the name "Yato" after he wrote out his name but Sakura misread the kanji. Fast forward to the present and toward the end of the second season/episode 36-ish, where Yato is stuck in yomi and Hiyori realizes that Yato's real name is "Yaboku". The vast majority of "Noragami" fans call him "Yato", but it is also common to see him referred to as "Yaboku" only when describing his past self.
