A dork is a nerd who is outgoing a d doesn’t take themselves too seriously, and also who people generally find cute or attractive. These traits make people think they are less intelligent than their reclusive, sexless counterparts, but in fact they are of equal intelligence. Dorks and nerds share in common the social ineptitude that comes with high intelligence. Geeks, on the other hand, are fairly social and form tight knit communities with other geeks interested in the same things as them, but they cannot relate to anyone who does not share their same exact niche interests. Dorks and nerds, being more private, are less clannish and more capable of relating to others under the right circumstances; however, they often fail when they try too hard, which the dork is more often guilty of than the nerd.
