A derogatory term used in metal and hardcore communities to describe a wave of metalcore and post-hardcore bands from the late 00's and early 10's. Commonly these bands include melodic singing (sometimes autotuned) alongside screamed and/or growled vocals, use of synthesizers and other electronic elements, simple breakdowns etc. These bands are also stereotyped as generic and unoriginal. The origin of the name is from the record label Rise Records who are known to sign and promote these bands. Examples of risecore bands: Attack Attack!, Woe is me, Of Mice & Men, I See Stars
