When playing a roleplaying game, this unfortunate malady occurs when a player becomes so attached to their character, that they break the verisimilitude of the game by creating copies of their favored character. This affliction can present itself in many ways, such as giving other characters the same name with slight variations or creating characters that have the same personality or mannerisms.
