A Needum is a dear friend of many years, a friend who may be closer than family members. This friendship transcends time and geographic distance. Needum is not a romantic relationship. Needum may occasionally be shortened to "Needs." Two people who are Needums or Needs to each other may engage in jibberish based on their shared experiences, which is unintelligible to others.
