The Michigan Right Lane. When it starts to snow (especially in Michigan), the right lane of a major highway accumulates the most amount of snow due to people sliding off the road and the law that forces drivers to move over a lane when an emergency vehicle is on the side of the road help those cars. Drivers stay in the left most lanes since they don’t want to change lanes a lot. The extra accumulation of snow further discouraged drivers from using the right lane.
