To leave quickly and deliberately. Origin: Vietnam War. Bo di means leave and Chay means run quickly. “Bo di chay” spoken quickly in Vietnamese sounded like “book it” to the U.S. soldiers. When they returned home, they spread the term across the whole country. Which is why everyone claims they used it growing up during and after the Vietnam war.
