The newest album by Green Day. It gained much attention from the middle school punk/goth crowd because it's first single, "American Idiot", was the only form of rock music played on MTV. It has also recieved recognition from trendy subcult stores such as Hottopic who manufactured shirts, pins, patches, and other various merchandise to promote this album. This lead to the subculture-seeking teenyboppers to go out and buy the album in order to rightfully own that uber trendy Green Day tank top they saw at the mall. This greatly pisses true Green Day fans off. And though it is true that Dookie and Nimrod are exceptional albums, I assure you that there is life before Dookie.
