Organized by Bob Geldof of Live Aid fame, these concerts are supposed to raise awareness about poverty, and put pressure on G-8 leaders to do something to help poor African nations. The cities are: London Paris Rome Berlin Moscow Philadelphia Johannesburg Tokyo Barrie Headliners include U2, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Green Day, Our Lady Peace, Coldplay, The Tragically Hip, many more. It is being broadcast live around the world to an estimated 4 billion viewers.
