Reserve Officer Training Corps It's how you become a military officer without attending a military academy. It is a college course consisting of early morning physical training, leadership labs, and historical and scientific academic classes. At the end of your college career you are commisioned as an officer (2nd Lt.) into the branch of the military that you were in during your ROTC training. The high school course is JROTC.
