Xica is an alternative way of spelling the word chica (a word that is primarily used in Spanish & Portuguese speaking countries). Xica or chica usually refers to a young girl or woman. It can also be a way of describing a Latin woman as sexy or attractive. Xica can also be a first or middle name for a girl (this is more commonly seen in Brazil). Many people started naming their daughters Xica after Francisca da Silva, who is also known as Xica da Silva. Xica was a slave in the 1700s but was later freed and had her slave history erased. She had children with a rich, Portuguese diamond mine owner which allowed her to live out the rest of her life lavishly.
