A "Welcoming Potato™" is when you add a potato emoji (🥔) as a reaction to a user's first, introductory, post in a Discord chat server. It is customary to hand out Welcoming Potatoes to new users and is generally considered a sign of a kind and welcoming community. Some may also use the amount of potatoes given per new user as a metric for activity, or how welcoming a community is.
