Stavanger (/stəˈvæŋər ) is a beautiful Norwegian city in the southwest of the country. The region around the city is known for a very rich nature and fascinating fjords to visit and marvel at. A population of 128.369 people makes the city to the 4th largest in Norway population wise. The people of Stavanger usually speak in a Norwegian dialect known as ''Stavangersk'' and write in the Bokmål dialect. Interesting places to visit include but are not limited to: - The fjords around Stavanger with their open and wide view on the nature. - The shopping street of Øvre Holmegate with it's colorful architecture in the northern parts of the city. - The Norwegian petroleum museum which gives a great insight into the petroleum industry - The museum of Stavanger which tells visitors about the long story of the scandinavian city.
