The discovery that although you are able to reproduce the singing or rapping of lines in a song perfectly in your mind, in reality, you do not have any singing talent at all. You may be able to rap every word to Eminem’s famous verse from Rap God or match the vibrato and full sounding voice of Adele in your mind. You may sing along to your favorite songs in the car, not able to hear yourself over the sounds of the real artist, but when put in front of a microphone the results are much different than you expected or you sound much different than you perceive yourself.
