A 'fraudpology' is an apology that is fake. It can be meant to smooth tensions but not fix the situation. It is most likely that someone is only apologizing to keep up appearances. This is otherwise known as a 'fake apology.' The great thing about this word is that you can label people: fraudpologists - people who consistently say sorry but don't mean it.
