The process by which a person becomes accustomed to an asshole member of a social group and is then able to look past said asshole's behavior and appreciate him for the color of his personality. The term was coined in the late 90's by the inhabitants of the (now defunct) Intel Call Center at the Heathrow campus of the Convergys Corporation. Also known as: Getting to know Kevin 'Ribbs' Chance, a tall German kid from Deland Florida who had a flare for being an asshole in the most exciting of ways.
