Dr. Egon Spengler was responsible for the main theoretical framework, behind the ground-breaking theories involved in the trade of Ghost catching, during the early 1990s. In collaboration with his colleague, Dr. Ray Stantz, Dr. Spengler was responsible for the design of the Ghostbusters equipment. Mainly concerned with theoretical processes, most of his inventions, stories, and general existence was without exception...pointless. Therefore a 'Spengler' or its verb 'to Spengle' involves someone or something in life which has absolutely no purpose.
