A term based on ignominy and maniac. This is a person who is intent on being a noted authority or discoverer by the use of such things as selective plagiarism, rampant falsification or just plain ignorance. When this results in public shame and disgrace, an ignominiac will persist nonetheless and may ultimately become a glorious antihero to some. The term could also be used for a rumor monger - well-known or otherwise.
