(n) Aus. A form of downball (also known as handball) played between two players or teams in predetermined areas known as squares. There are two squares: King, who initiates the gameplay by gently throwing the ball or serving, and Queen, who receives the ball and is the square where the next person in line goes to. Origin: Named so after its use of two squares, which would have originally been two adjacent rectangles of concrete as marked on a footpath or walkway.
