A bean can be used to describe someone in a loving, weirdly romantic way for nerds/freaks that read too much fanfic and have no friends. It can also be used to describe someone that simply looks like a bean. This person is also usually asexual with a bean shaped head, and just the overall non-literal but hilarious appearance of a bean. It tends to be a nickname.
