Sexual Reassignment Surgery or SRS is the surgical process (or processes) in which a transgender person's sexual characteristics (mainly the genitals) are altered to resemble the ones of their opposite sex (or the gender they identify with). These surgical procedures can also be performed in intersex people. This definition may be mistaken with Hormone Replacement Therapy , which is another type of procedure that meny transgender people go through.
