A Bergen Joke is one that takes copious amounts of effort to plan while producing low to moderate levels of humor. Typically, a Bergen Joke is enjoyed most by the joke-teller and after successfully completing a Bergen Joke, one should be moderately pleased with oneself when the subjects express their confusion regarding the amount of effort exerted.
