Homeless nomadic workers, who often stowaway on moving trains for mass-transport. Hobo culture has seen a decrease after World War 2, but the counter-culture youth have brought in new generations. Christopher McCandless is a very famous example. They are different from bums, because they want to and can work odd jobs. Bums typically have addictions or mental problems that affect their functionality in society, so they typically live in sewers or under bridges. Hobos, on the other hand, rarely stay in one place.
