The M4 Sherman is a tank that was used by alley forces during WWII. The tank had a crew of five. Most early (beginning of the war) M4 variants have a main armament of a 75mm gun, which could take out most opposing medium and light tanks, such as the Panzer III or the StuG III. It is highly underrated by many WWII documentaries because it couldn't take on the German made Tiger 1 or most other German heavies used during WWII; however, later M4 tanks were outfitted with better guns and better armor, such as the M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo, which had thick steel plates welded to the outside to build up more armor.
