The simplest mmorpg tactic, where a heavily-armed, high health point player (referred to as the tank) draws the enemy's attention and takes all the enemy fire while the rest of the team come in and deal damage to the opposition (referred to as the DPS, the one who delivers the "spank"). Side note: May not always be the best approach in a boss fight with certain mechanics.
