While it had some decent stuff like Knights of the Old Republic, it had just too many wildly inconsistent ridiculous stories which destroy anything the Original Trilogy accomplishes such as Palpatine surviving Return of the Jedi and Luke Skywalker turning to the Dark Side. It was an ultimately a good decision Lucasfilm ultimately declared a collective retcon toward this even though this sadly resulted in groups aiming to ruin subsequent Star Wars enjoyment by spoiling The Force Awakens and Rogue One through "Comment Raids".
