A more subtle way to say "I don't care." Normally someone says this when they are in a bad mood or around an annoying person.

Girl: *reading a book* Boy: hey I just got a new car!! Girl: cool.

A lazy way to say Awesome. Kids in school use "cool" to get out of doing work.

When people use cool, they are lazily saying awesome.
