A term to describe someone who is seen as a fake/phony. However, this is a term used mostly by ignorant scum bags who have a great deal of growing up to do. It's one of those words that most civilized people do away with after middle school.

ok these definitions are allrigh but miss a few key point. a poser is a person who trys to conform to a social group to either look cool, get atention, or because they are uncofident. a poser isnt really what they are trying to be a poser dosnt have to be conformed to any group such as preps. the best way to spot a poser- a poser will allways anounce their group through acts, clothing and speech

A person who is trying too hard to be punk... but isn't and loves rap and Fallout Boy... and Yellowcard and Gay emo... usually a girl or a slasher(emo)... They wear excessive clothing from Hot Topic on one day and American Eagle, Ambercrombie, ect. on the next.
