Maccas is a German nickname for McDonalds. Sometimes also called McDoof which means "stupid maccas". Early German tourists likely introduced it when they couldn't get a decent bratwurst in Australia and then brought the word back home when they told the story.

I'm hungry and there's no decent food around. Was? Let's get maccas.
