A short form of "copy and paste". A blatant, unapologetic form of plagiarism. Describes the act of hastily copying and pasting work from other documents to produce your own work. (Originated in Indonesia, on internet forums)

a: Hey bro - you coming out for a drink? b: Yeah gimme 5 minutes I just have a proposal due today but it's just a lot of copas so shouldn't take long. -- a: Gwen this document looks like shit b: Sorry Harold - it's mostly copas. I couldn't be fucked coming up with anything original.

Short of "copy and paste". Used usually as deragotry terms for plagiarism and shortcut. And much often also being used as an excuse for a stupid mistakes which in no circumstances at all deserves any.

'This is a COPAS work! I can do this my self in 3 minutes! Why should I pay your salary if this is the best you can do!" (actual quote from Indonesia's past vice president) Lecturer Assistant: "It seems that I am very familiar with your work paper here." University Student: "Well.. actually much of it is a COPAS work from your past dissertation." A: "Dude! the number in this excel sheet doesn't add up! How come 100 and 30 became 500?" B: "it's COPAS mistake, I'll fix it shortly." Sorry.. this is a COPAS from BBC, but the story is very interesting!
